This quote resonates deeply with me. Don't underestimate the power of George's message despite the simplicity of his words.
We often feel there is a time limit on our growth and success. Maybe it started when we were babies and we needed to crawl, walk and talk by a certain age. Then as adults, we needed to get jobs, get married and have 2.3 children by a certain age. Did we ever look at who created these rules and if they were satisfied with their life? Subsequently, when we don't meet a milestone, we feel like a lost cause.
This is 1000% untrue. If you're thinking that you'll never realize the dreams you had as a child or the ambitions you had before your children, first career, second career, etc.--STOP! These are all lies that exist out there in the world that you absorbed and made your truth without realizing what was happening.
Need proof? Here is a list of 10 people who lived their best life after 40.
P.S. George Eliot was really Mary Anne Evans, an English woman, novelist and poet during the Victorian era. She was born in 1819 and chose to write under a pen name, as women writers were not taken seriously at that time. She wanted to write books and have influence that was before her time. She didn't let an irrelevant thing like her gender stop her.
Can you overcome what's stopping you? If so, start today.
