I recently joined a workshop dedicated to self-discovery, personal growth and unlocking one's potential. In one of our initial assignments, we were tasked with crafting a letter from our future selves to our present selves. This is harder than you might imagine. It requires a leap of faith and the courage to say, "I'm in charge of my story."

I decided to envision the evening after dropping Grace off at college. Given that she is currently 4 years old and hasn't even started Kindergarten, my letter is from my future self in 2036. In taking this imaginative leap, I envisioned the forthcoming chapters of my life story—the highs and lows, the challenges and triumphs. This exercise not only required creative foresight but underscored the power of embracing both the uncertainties and potentials that lie ahead.
